9-20 FUNNY STORY: i went to a party last night and this couple comes up to me and they said, "I heard that you are in the johnnyLechner.com band."

i said, "yeah that's true."

they said, "Well, what do you do?"

I said, "i sing and play the guitar."

they said, "well then what does johnny do?"

i said, "not much, but we let him think he's running the show."

7-31 so i head out to the left coast to play shows for the summer... suddenly i end up learning a lot about myself. you see, in the midst of people singing along and knowing the words better than i, i decide to sell my car for a plane ticket and head home to see a girl. now it seems like i'm just waiting to become inspired while i drive a cow painted car to a job where i serve people. i think it was a bit more fun when i was treated like a king. maybe not though.

4-17 busted out the super guitar man costume and played a crazy version of rise once again last night at an event where i was named University of Wisconsin-W's BIG MAN ON CAMPUS. there was a great response from the packed house and the performance was videotaped for an upcoming video that is in the works. even the members of the band Blue Agave were in attendance to show their support.

9-7 i haven't been writing much, but all i need is a good heartbreak and i'll be able to pound out some new tunes. anyway, the summer was great. the new cd seems to be going over well. i'm gonna be playing my first show ever in Missouri...this wednesday in Springfield. also, i'll be dropping some new stories on the site within the next week so check back soon

5-04 thanks for all of the emails, i'll be responding to them as soon as things lighten up. i was in milwaukee last week filming footage for my first music video. the video is for the song "beep" and it was directed by Mark D'Anna. i also did a photo shoot with Chris Eichman last week. we did some interesting stuff that will show up on upcoming concert posters and such.

8-23 things are going great. last week i got to record a song called shame free that will be featured on a film that will be at over 300 film festivals in the upcoming year (Cannes and Sundance to name a few). the producers of the movie are also talking with the Showtime movie channel. anyway, the film is going to be distributed on dvd.

4-17 i have been very busy since getting back from mexico. the new cd is out in stores and for sale off this site. this week i will be doing an interview and an acoustic set at the local radio station to promote an upcoming show (next wednesday). my tour schedule is still up in the air for this summer. i plan on playing a nice amount of shows throughout california, but also look forward to my first visit to seatle.

12-15 Played a very intimate venue last wednesday w/ fellow guitar player, chad swalheim, and sold about 60 CDs. it was very cool. earlier this morning i did a live interview on the radio and played some christmas tunes. i've also been getting ready to shut myself off from the world and disappear into the recording studio. i've decided to not play any more shows until the next CD is completely recorded.
